A TASTE FOR ADVENTURE
Where we come from
The meaning of Bua Hana best represents our establishment serving up savory Thai with cool Japanese
Bua - lotus in Thai
Hana - flower in Japanese
Bualong Pimsarn, the hierarchy of the Pimsarn family, is the inspiration for opening Bua Hana in 2010. The owner Pakdee Yu, better known as Dee, is one of seven children originating from Udon, Thailand. This area is North Eastern Thailand and is considered the countryside. Growing up, the Pimsarn family survived off farm life growing whatever they could sell, from watermelon to herbal medicine…just ask Dee herself! It wasn’t until 1984 that the entire family immigrated to the United States to Hawaii. Eventually, they ended up in chilly Chicago, keeping their love of food throughout their journey. Dee now brings a taste of Thailand to Forest Park. Grab a seat, sip some Thai beer or a sake, and dig into our culture!
Cheers! Chaiyo! Kampai!
We hope you enjoy it!
